Sustainability
To us sustainability is a goal, but it’s also a path. It’s not a secret that the fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world, and the reality is there’s still a long way to go –in terms of efforts from the fashion industry as a whole, and technological advances that allow brands to be fully sustainable. Although we are not 100% sustainable, we believe there is a necessity for us humans to live in harmony with nature, and it is our duty to take action towards achieving this, as small as it may seem, so that this may eventually become a reality.
How are we sustainable?
From the moment we started thinking about this lingerie brand –when it had no name, just the idea of it– we thought about the impact and trash our products would create. So, we designed all the packaging, branding tools like tags, labels, mailer bags, etc. to be as sustainable as they could be, from their minimalist design to the materials involved in all of them like Earth Pact or corn.
As a company policy we do not mass produce nor do we launch multiple products every month. We buy fabrics in small volumes to avoid fabric waste and because for exclusivity reasons.
Additionally, many of our garments are laser cut, which is much more efficient and creates minimal waste. We use the leftover fabric to make unique, limited pieces, or we give them other uses in our products.
We work with recycled polyester thread of the best quality, and while our fabrics are not 100% sustainable yet, we use fabrics of the highest quality available in the market. Our goal is that in a near future all our fabrics are sustainable.
We are committed to the environment and with our clients. This is why there are fabrics we refuse to use due to its lack of longevity as is the case of microfibre.
Finally, all our garments are made in small workshops with good conditions, by the hands of women with a great passion for sewing. We pay fairly for the manufacture and commitment to quality of each garment, and it’s reflected in the final product.
